The role
As the Design Lead, my role was to lead the design language and oversee the creation a user-centric design strategy that ensures the platform was intuitive, visually appealing, and aligned with the mission to enhance work-life balance for NHS professionals. I was responsible for ideating the new digital ID and ensuring it aligned with the company's values and goals, while also meeting the needs of the target audience. My involvement included collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements, ensuring a seamless user experience, and pioneered the digital identity of NHS Shifts

Tailored Opportunities with Work-Life Balance at the Forefront

An harmonious blend of function and inspiration, designed with the core ethos of promoting a work-life balance. As users land on the page, they are immediately greeted with a prominent, intuitive job search bar placed centrally, prompting them to begin their journey. Adjacent to this, clear, concise graphics and textual cues offer a brief yet insightful overview of how the platform operates, ensuring even first-time visitors grasp its functionality at a glance.

The overall design intuitively guides the user through the platform while constantly reiterating the importance of aligning professional commitments with personal well-being.

The job search
A joint venture of intuitive design and tailored functionality. Dominating the page is a comprehensive and easily navigable listing of available job positions, each entry clearly detailing key information like role, location, and shift timings. However, the standout feature is the platform's robust filtering system.

To the side, a meticulously designed filter panel awaits user interaction. This panel is segmented into clear categories, allowing users to fine-tune their search based on parameters like job role, shift length, location radius, skill level, and department, among others.
Each filter is designed with sliders, checkboxes, and dropdowns to ensure maximum ease of use.
Furthermore, the system's intelligence shines through in its adaptive filtering. As users make selections, the filtering algorithms work in real-time to refine the listings, ensuring only the most relevant opportunities are displayed.

Workplaces profiles
The Workplace Profile page serves as a comprehensive dashboard for users to gain insights into hospitals or practices before committing to a shift. At its core, this page is designed to empower users with a clear, transparent view of potential workplaces.

A standout feature is the user-generated rating system. Displayed prominently are aggregated star ratings, accompanied by detailed user reviews that shed light on various aspects such as work environment, staff cooperation, facilities, and patient dynamics. Adjacent to the ratings is a dynamic shift booking module. Here, users can view available shifts, broken down by dates, timings, and departments. A user-friendly calendar interface allows them to quickly gauge their fit based on their personal availability.


Personal profile
The Personal Profile page on NHS Shifts is a user-centric hub streamlining a healthcare professional's experience. At its core is a dashboard showcasing upcoming shifts, recent jobs, and a snapshot of pending payments from timesheets. A seamlessly integrated calendar allows users to visualize both professional shifts and personal commitments, ensuring a harmonious balance between work and leisure. Alongside, the timesheets module offers a straightforward breakdown of hours worked and earnings. Emphasizing simplicity and clarity, the design enables swift navigation, making it an invaluable tool for professionals keen on managing their time and tasks efficiently.


User schedule
One of the calendar's standout features is its dynamic job search integration. Instead of navigating to a separate page, users can seamlessly search for jobs directly from their calendar based on their available slots. By simply highlighting or selecting their free days or hours, the system presents available shifts that fit perfectly into their schedules. This eliminates the hassle of manually comparing job timings with personal availability, making the job hunt more efficient and user-friendly.
